MCDA Prepares to Apply for Two EPA Cleanup Grants

The Mitchell County Development Authority (MCDA) plans to apply for two (2) Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Brownfields Cleanup grants:

  1. $200,000 to assist with the cleanup of hazardous waste and petroleum contaminants at the former Cagles Processing Facility on Highway 37 in Camilla, Georgia, and
  2. $200,000 to assist with cleanup of petroleum contaminants at the former Glausier St. Gas Station property at 334 Glausier Street in Pelham, Georgia.

The Grant application/proposal and draft Analysis of Brownfields Cleanup Alternatives (ABCA) will be available to enable citizens to review the documents, and offer time for comments/questions, during the regular County Board of Commissioners Meeting to be held in December.

The meeting will be held at 186 East Broad Street on December 6th from 9am to 10am.
